Portfolio Site Design Elements

Personal Branding, 2020

It’s an ongoing project to ensure my portfolio reflects both my work and my personality, but here’s a look at the first round of my design thought process.

My main goal in creating a personal logo was to make something that was energetic and unique. I kept to yellows and red for that energy, and stuck to simple shapes that evoked my initials. The rounded, forward leaning shapes gave motion to the logo.

I kept the site simple, with these pops of red and yellow to brighten up the scene. My about page featured little tokens to represent the different areas of expertise—again, sticking to the branding colors, but throwing greys into the mix for legibility of design.

Finally, buried in the lost pages I tied my interests in with a playful 404 illustration of a hawk staring at the user.

Applications Used: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate for iPad
